Happy New Year!

I hope you had a great Christmas and New Year, mine was pretty quiet although this year I did take a holiday. My holiday included around 14 hours of deep cleaning on the Tattoo Race Truck. I really got into it, even dismantling parts of the truck for those difficult to get to places.

We had a pretty decent run on gift vouchers in the lead up to Christmas as well. Unfortunately it was all in vain, before I had a chance to even fire up a machine in 2021 the Isle of Man went back into lockdown due to a COVID-19 outbreak. I have a few vouchers left in stock so if you would like to support the studio through this difficult time you can do so by purchasing a voucher through this link.

A few customers have expressed concern that the vouchers may expire before they get a chance to use them. Don’t worry, our vouchers do not expire. You can use them a week after purchase of five years it makes no difference to us. As long as the voucher is in tact, displays the correct numbers and is presented at the start of your appointment it’s all good.

We never profiteer. You bought a voucher so we will honour it.

ON THE ROAD TATTOO Vouchers do not expire, they are as good as cash in your hand. You will still need to pay a deposit to book in, unless you send the voucher back to us when you book your tattoo. Unfortunately although the vouchers are special they do not give you “special powers”, the waiting list is what it is, a voucher does not entitle you to “queue jump”. But that said they are a great gift or a great way of putting money “to one side” for your next tattoo.

Much like Jack Skellington here, I am still standing and still here. ON THE ROAD TATTOO is in good condition and we have nothing to worry about with the company. Me personally…. not so much…. but I am approaching this lockdown differently to the last one, not worrying and letting the whole situation  flow over me, better times are ahead, they always will be.

My “to do list” has actually grown quite quickly. The truck is already fully sorted and ready to go, so it has just been “mothballed” for now. I already placed quite a big order for new tattoo supplies just before lockdown so they are already in transit, I do need to order a few new cartridges but other than that, all of my physical “studio work” is done.

I am planning quite a big sale of all of the 2020 merchandise in the online shop, its great quality apparel but there are new plans in place for 2021, so it would be worth keeping your eye on the site for some bargains to be had! We don’t have a lot of stock left so be quick when it drops. The Tattoo Galleries need updating, I have lots of new work to display and to be honest they need trimming down a bit, the black and grey gallery is starting to run out of control with the volume of images on display.

The newsletter is going to be a big deal for 2021. Make sure you sign up to it at the bottom of this page. We will be sending out one newsletter a month and it will contain discount codes, special offers and exclusive competitions for those that have taken the time to sign up to it.

For all those who are wondering where Treacle the dog is: she is living her best life, had a great Christmas and still wants to come to work in the morning. So she may have to come out of retirement when the weather improves.

My New Year’s resolution for 2021 is to get X-Paint up and running. This year I want to make time to find a new premises, hopefully a bit of investment from somewhere and a couple of the younger generation who want to learn about airbrushing and custom paint. I don’t think there is anything quite like it available on the Isle of Man at present.

It”s January and I have yet to pick up a machine and do any 2021 tattoo. Currently we are locked down for 21 days, so in theory we should be out of lockdown on the 28th. But looking at what is happening back “across” and with the situation here on island being quite “fluid” to say the least, I am not holding my breath for that date. So what shall I do?

For the moment the website is getting some much needed TLC. But my partner, Anna Beth, has been pointing out for some time that I haven’t tattooed her since my last convention in 2017. She is also holding £1000 in gift vouchers, so I guess I will be finishing her leg over the next few weeks.

Hopefully I will also be able to get a few bits done on the Tattoo Race Truck during lockdown. It has a dent that is annoying me. For those of you who remember “Dirty Arry” the 1.3 Suzuki Carry support vehicle at On The Road Tattoo, you are in for a shock. He has had a fair bit of work done on him and is soooo close to being back on the road. We may need to rename him “Flash Arry”.

All things considered I will not be bored.

THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO VISIT THE SITE AND READ THE LATEST NEWS. MAKE SURE TO SIGN UP FOR THE NEWSLETTER BEFORE YOU LEAVE. STAY SAFE AND LETS HOPE WE CAN GET BACK ON TRACK ON THE IOM SOONER RATHER THAN LATER, WE ALL NEED TO PLAY OUR PART.
