— ON THE ROAD TATTOO

ISLE OF MAN TT 20

On The Road tattoo is a unique tattoo studio, fully mobile and fully licensed for the whole of the Isle of Man, it can travel to and tattoo at any point on the Island. And that is why I am really excited for the Isle of Man TT 2020.

Even though it is only January….. Happy New Year!…… I have already secured two great locations for tattooing and have one very exciting booking already. But before we go there let me explain how I can give you a great Isle of Man TT 2020 tattoo experience!

So you want a tattoo to remember your trip to the Isle of Man TT 2020, no problem. Allow me to pick you up in the morning at either your hotel or guest house. We can then drive to either one of my approved locations on the TT course, set up and do your tattoo or we can organise to go to a location of your choice.

Once done I will drop you back to your digs with a fresh tattoo, my On the Road Tattoo Oil aftercare and comprehensive healing instructions. Could there be a better way to get tattooed at the Isle of Man TT 2020?

Not only is the studio fully licensed but it features all the creature comforts that you would expect from a VIP experience. We have Netflix, WiFi, a fridge for your lunch should you choose to bring it with, tea and coffee making facilities, climate control, banging tunes, the list goes on and on.

I don’t remember the trip in the 60’s btw! I was here for the return of Mike Hailwood and got to meet him. I started racing schoolboy moto-x in 1976 and in my time have won a few championships in both the ACU and AMCA.

I took to the short circuit in the late 90’s racing with New Era aboard a CBR 600, progressed to a GSXR 1000 K2 in the Pro Bike Grand Slam at BSB. Then finished myself off with a season in Superstocks at the BSB before retiring upon the realisation that I was too slow, too old and generally in the way!

I dabbled at pit bike racing a few years back and was leading the BMB vets championship before nearly breaking my tattooing hand and deciding discretion was the better part of valor!

I recently bought the bike of my dreams, an MV Augusta Brutale Americas, a tribute to the 750S. So once the tattooing is done we can have a ride out as well so long as you are not too tender!

I was one of the first professional helmet painters in the UK and have been airbrushing for the best part of thirty years and tattooing for the last seventeen years. The tattooing has taken me all over the world. So I have a few tattoo stories as well!

So lets talk about the Isle of Man TT 2020.

From what I have heard most of the tattoo studios on the island do not take bookings for TT week, its walk in only. And the cue can go down the street. I do things a bit differently, to start with I am not under the same financial pressure as a shop with fixed costs, I don’t even have an electricity bill as my truck runs off batteries. So I do not have to get as many customers through the door as possible to pay my bills for the year. I like to concentrate on the art and the Isle of Man TT 2020 is the perfect opportunity to do some of my favourite art… motorcycle related art.

So I do take advance bookings, plan the tattoo and hopefully produce a banging piece of art that you can be proud of for years to come and attach a great story to as well!

I am looking for people who plan to get decent sized pieces, it does not have to be bike related or even TT related but it would be cool if it is. If you are interested then you can contact me through the website and if you would then like to book you can also pay a deposit on here.

But wait, there is more!

For the Isle of Man TT 2020 I  have teamed up with the Black Dub the ultimate TT viewing platform at mile 9! In association and by invitation of Uggly&Co I have been invited to join the team and offer tattoos in the tattoo race truck at this iconic location. There are few better places to spectate at the Isle of Man TT 2020. There is already food, accommodation entertainment and most importantly beer and spirits on site! For 2020 there will also be exclusive tattoos for those attending. Dates have yet to be confirmed but the Tattoo Race Truck will be in attendance more often than not, i suggest you get in touch with the Black Dub to pre order your tickets sooner rather than later. And if you specifically want a tattoo session at the Black Dub mile 9 then lets get that sorted and blocked off in the diary early!

My second big announcement is a partnership with the world famous Creg-Ny-Baa. One of if not the most iconic spot on the circuit I have already arranged to do the first tattoo ever done at the Creg for the start of practice week, a Dave Jeffries piece with DJ turning into the Creg. I am still looking for reference for this piece and hope to find a TT photographer to collaborate with, so if you know of anyone with great shots of DJ please do put them in touch with me.

Once again the Creg-Ny-Baa offers a great TT experience with awesome viewing platforms, a grandstand and exceptional food drink and entertainment. Early booking with the Creg-Ny-Baa is advised to avoid disappointment.

For the Isle of Man TT 2020 there is more news to come, so please do keep checking the website. I hope to be visiting a few of the campsites and I am already talking to a few other companies on the Island. If you run a company on the Isle of Man or your company is visiting the Isle of Man TT then please do get in touch if you would like to run a joint promotion with On The Road Tattoo.

Alternatively if you are just visiting to watch the racing at the Isle of Man TT 2020 then get in touch if you want a great tattoo experience whilst here!
