We are already tattooing in Ramsey two days a week. Unfortunately there are no “walk ups” just yet as we are booked up to the end of November; there are however still some Ramsey slots before Christmas and we may be able to squeeze in a few small ones, so get in touch if you want something done.
We haven’t planned a grand opening yet, that will more than likely be in the New Year.
So what are we doing?
Well, we need to put the record straight for a start!
The rumour mill picked up our little project and ran with it, we have heard…from a very reliable source…that we will be opening a massive shop, bringing in loads of artists from abroad, there will be nine apprentices (because we wanted to beat the Island record of eight?) there will be free cappuccinos and a coffee shop and finally my favourite “They draw up three designs in front of you and then you choose which one you want!”.
We can assure you that nothing could be further from the truth.
We already have the coolest tattoo studio on the Island, so if it isn’t broke we won’t fix it. Now it has its own permanent parking spot in Ramsey, hence a new permanent location. We have free parking for all our customers and we are currently building a bit of an open air waiting/meeting place. In the New Year we will be able to do “walk-ups” not “walk-ins” and we will be able to schedule some consultations.
TT week will be boss. We have lots of plans which will soon be revealed…
Where’s the new studio?
That’s in the big building behind us and it is about to be built. That, along with a state of the art custom built paint shop for custom paint and airbrush work. We didn’t get a shop, we got quite a big industrial unit to build our studios in and do some paintwork.
The new studio is another truck.
The new mobile studio (or studios) will be getting built over the next few months. In 2022 we plan to put another mobile tattoo studio on the Isle of Man full-time. We may add a third if there is demand, but our plan is to sell our mobile tattoo studios back across.
So, the new studio will be driven out of our workshop when it’s built and the Island will have a new On The Road Tattoo Studio.
We could never go back to working in a Tattoo Shop, why would we? Especially when we can work when we want, set our own opening and closing times, travel around this magical island daily, visit our customers in the comfort of their own surroundings, have no electric bill, no massive rents, no studio drama, no bitching, wailing, jealousy or backstabbing and no “no-shows!
All whilst carrying the very best of tattoo supplies due to support from a major tattoo distributor; we get the new products first.
Iaint could never go back to working in a shop. Having worked in Thailand for over five years, he has seen less of that country than the average backpacker, but he can still draw the dragon on the wall of the studio from memory. Tattooing On The Road is awesome.

On The Road Tattoo is run by a working Artist. We don’t want to manage you, we expect you to manage yourself. And our next truck is going to be “pimped”.

So we are a bit behind schedule *shakes fist at Covid*. There are six weeks lead times for equipment that we need, prices are through the roof for raw materials, prices are insane on new trucks, it’s the end of the tax year… All stuff designed to slow us down and break our will, it won’t though.
There is some exciting stuff planned for the future, On The Road Tattoo is no longer just “the tattoo studio that delivers,” it is now “ the tattoo studio that is going places”.
